This is a role for someone who enjoys the balance of relationship-building and commercial impact, you’ll see the direct results of your work in partner growth, customer experiences, and overall business performance.The RoleAs a Business Development Manager, you will serve as the primary representative of Inside Travel Group (ITG) across the North American travel trade, promoting the InsideJapan and InsideAsia brands and their culturally immersive travel experiences. Acting as a trusted partner to travel advisors, you will build strong brand awareness, deepen partner relationships, and position ITG as a specialist in thoughtfully curated journeys—both to the iconic, must-see destinations clients expect and the lesser-known, off-the-beaten-path experiences that set our trips apart.Your core focus will be driving revenue growth by increasing the lifetime value of key trade partners through strategic relationship management, targeted business development, and consistent engagement. This includes supporting and expanding existing partnerships, onboarding new advisors and agencies, delivering impactful training and presentations, and actively participating in industry events. You will play a critical role in executing both long-term growth strategies and short-term sales initiatives, using data and insights to maximize opportunities and achieve overall business objectives.What You Will Be DoingPartner Development & Relationship ManagementCultivate and strengthen strategic relationships with key travel advisor partners and agenciesDrive revenue growth by increasing partner engagement, retention, and lifetime valueMaintain a consistent cadence of personalized communication and account managementEnsure partners remain informed on destinations, product updates, and selling strategiesIdentify and activate high-potential accounts through targeted outreach and trainingMaintain a thoughtfully developed pipeline of partner engagement and industry events (e.g., tradeshows, consumer events, trainings)Training & Education Deliver impactful onboarding for new partners, setting a strong foundation for successConduct engaging virtual and in-person training sessions, webinars, and presentationsEquip advisors with the knowledge and tools needed to confidently sell ITG destinationsProvide ongoing education to deepen partner expertise and drive conversionBusiness Development & Account GrowthIdentify, qualify, and onboard new agency and advisor partners across North AmericaExpand presence within key consortia and host agency networks (e.g., Virtuoso, WESTA, preferred partners)Develop strategic account plans to maximize sales opportunities and market penetrationProactively uncover new business opportunities and convert them into measurable revenue growthSupport partners in aligning ITG offerings with their ideal client profilesEvents & RepresentationServe as the primary ambassador for Inside Travel Group (ITG), representing InsideJapan and InsideAsia across the North American travel trade marketBuild strong brand awareness and reinforce ITG’s reputation for culturally immersive, high-quality travel experiencesPosition ITG as the go-to specialist for thoughtfully curated, off-the-beaten-path journeysPlan and execute destination showcases, training sessions, and client-facing presentationsParticipate in host agency conferences and regional events based on strategic valueEvaluate event performance and ROI to inform future participation and investmentTerritory Management & TravelManage a defined territory with a focus on high-impact, in-person engagementTravel up to 60% for partner meetings, events, trainings, and business development activitiesPrioritize relationships within the local drive market while maintaining broader regional coverageParticipate in internal meetings, including periodic travel to the Broomfield, CO officeEngage in destination familiarization trips to deepen product knowledge and storytellingWhat We Are Looking For From YouProven experience in business development, sales, or account management (travel industry preferred)Knowledge of or passion for Japan and Asia destinationsIdeally, you have travelled to Japan.Comfortable working independently from a home office with minimal supervisionExcellent relationship-building and communication skillsStrong presentation skills for both virtual and in-person settingsSelf-motivated with excellent time management and organizational abilitiesComfortable with technology and virtual communication platformsExisting relationships within the travel advisor community (preferred)Willingness to travelYou don’t need to meet every requirement.
