S&R Material Handler
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Loads and unloads trucks, receives material into inventory, prepare paperwork for shipments, banding and organization of physical inventory.
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager
SUPERVISION GIVEN: None.
PLANT: Yellow Springs Works
SHIFT: 1st shift
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires frequent bending, stooping, stretching, prolonged standing. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds continuously throughout an ten (10) hour shift. Requires normal vision, hearing, and speech range. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is primarily performed in a factory environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Examine contents of shipments and compare with records to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments. Verifies items received, noting any shortages or discrepancies.
Process outbound shipments, and pull orders for shipments.
Operate propane or electric-powered forklifts to transport, load, and unload materials, including loading and unloading trucks.
Transfer parts by hand from one box to another. Split and merge containers and container weigh count.
Weight materials or products on the scale and record pertinent data on tags or labels. Enter information into computer, and create computer bar codes, shipping labels, etc.
Move parts to correct location with handheld scanner or computer.
Print shipping labels and paperwork to the correct containers and shipments going out. Receive in parts and label the containers they received in and put the containers away in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED required. Forklift (sit down and stand up) experience required. Warehouse experience a plus. Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required while performing duties in production areas.
Some computer literacy and data entry knowledge.
Previous shipping and receiving experience a plus.
