deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Principal Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL.Position DescriptiondeciBel Research seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to support the Ground Based Midcourse (GMD) Weapon System (GWS). The successful candidate will support the GWS program. This role is responsible for developing Systems Engineering products that directly support the design and development of the GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/teams comprised of all experience levels.Due to the nature of the role, this is not offered as a teleworking or hybrid position.Education RequirementsBachelor's degree or higher in a STEM related field.Experience Requirements5+ years with Bachelor's degree, 3+ years with Master's degree, 1+ years with PhDDemonstrated C++ developmentExperience with Unit Test and System Test DevelopmentExperience with GoLang, C, ADA, and/or PythonAbility to read other coding languagesStrong communication skillsCandidate must demonstrate ability to think critically and capture concepts in work products, presentations, and discussionsCapable of working both independently and within a team environment.Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the timeSpecial Skills DesiredExperience with SQL DatabasesExperience with Jira/Confluence/BitbucketExperience with Bamboo, Jenkins, Fortify, and CoverityExperience with containers and container developmentKnowledge of GMDApplicant selected must have an active Secret security clearance.
