SR. SQL DEVELOPER/EDW CONSULTANT
***Position is 100% on-site*** ***Secret Clearance Is Required*** Job Summary Seeking a Sr. SQL Developer / Enterprise Data Warehouse with Data Warehousing and cloud environment experience to support to the Office of Information Systems (TC) within the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The DEA's SQL Server-based EDW is used by many DEA's applications and is a critical component of statistical reporting. Active secret clearance is required. As with any position, additional expectation exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours , meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), and staying focused on the assigned tasks including company meetings, and completing other tasks as assigned. ResponsibilitiesTo assist the EDW Team and provide data warehouse information and facilitate the transition to a cloud environmentCreate and maintain database integrity and performance using scripts and/or Visual Studio Database ProjectsCreate new and maintain/improve all data transformation services: Microsoft SSIS and others using VS data toolsCreate SQL Scripts to deploy / enhance / maintain databasesCreate and maintain database security, including, but not limited to: Data Base Roles, Users and LoginsMay write reports or facilitate data access by other means as needed, to include SSRS, PowerBI, etcConducts performance tuning and database design, dimensional analysis and modelingMaintain and add to an extensive set of SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) packages for Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) of dataSupport the ongoing effort to establish a Data Engineering environment supported by Python and other languages to perform ETL and ELT (Extract, Load, and Transform) operationsSupports the review of database systems from non-Concorde applications in other DEA offices for ingestion into the EDWParticipate in daily Agile stand-up meetings and monthly planning sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospective sessionsOther duties as assigned Basic QualificationsU.S. Citizenship RequiredSecret Clearance RequiredMust be able to pass a DEA Security Approval2+ years of Cloud environment experience (AWS or Microsoft Azure)8+ years of experience in the design, development and implementation of SQL Server databases creating and maintaining T-SQL Procedures, functions, and triggers5+ years of experience with SSIS packages for data manipulation and loading in an enterprise data warehouse environment5+ years of experience with the SQL Server 2016 environmentBachelor's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related disciplinePrevious experience with Business Intelligence, Kimball Modeling and/or elastic search is desiredIf applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of, and experience within, an Agile development environmentKnowledge of, and prior experience with Git, Python, and PowerShellKnowledge of, and ability to use, Azure DevOps ServerAbility to write efficient SQL queries as well as demonstrated ability to interpret legacy scriptsKnowledge of, and prior experience with multi-dimensional data modelsDemonstrated prior experience with SSISKnowledge of Kimball data warehouse methodology is highly desiredDemonstrated ability and desire to learn new technologiesAbility to reverse engineering existing logic of all kinds (queries, stored procedures, functions, Python, and C#)Ability to write test plans and casesExperience with data modelingExperience with programming and software development, including Python, R, or other high-level language used in statistical computingQuality Assurance Experience is a plus Company Summary Join the VSolvit Team!
