The Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting is responsible for leading the company’s external financial reporting process and ensuring full compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations . This role oversees the preparation and filing of all SEC reports, manages the company’s XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) reporting and tagging process , and provides technical accounting expertise for complex transactions and emerging accounting standards.This leader will partner closely with finance, legal, investor relations, FP&A, and external auditors to ensure timely, accurate, and transparent financial disclosures while maintaining alignment with evolving regulatory requirements and SEC taxonomy updates .Key ResponsibilitiesLead the preparation and review of all SEC filings, including Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required disclosures .Ensure financial statements and footnotes are prepared in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting standards .Coordinate the quarterly and annual financial reporting process, including internal and external review cycles.Manage disclosure controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of public filings.Partner with Investor Relations and Legal to ensure consistency between earnings releases, investor presentations, and SEC filings.Oversee the company’s XBRL tagging and filing process , ensuring accuracy and completeness of data tagging.Ensure compliance with SEC taxonomy requirements and evolving digital reporting standards .Manage relationships with third-party financial reporting/XBRL vendors and platforms.Review and validate inline XBRL (iXBRL) tagging , extensions, and data quality controls prior to submission.Monitor regulatory updates related to digital reporting requirements and implement process improvements.Technical AccountingServe as the company’s internal expert on technical accounting matters and new accounting pronouncements .Research and document accounting positions related to complex transactions including:Revenue recognitionBusiness combinationsLease accountingEquity and debt transactionsImpairments and restructuringPrepare technical accounting memos supporting accounting conclusions.Lead the implementation of new FASB/GAAP standards and assess their impact on financial reporting.Compliance & ControlsSupport and enhance SOX compliance related to financial reporting processes.Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and disclosure.Collaborate with internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.Leadership & Cross-Functional CollaborationLead and mentor a team responsible for financial reporting and XBRL preparation.Partner with finance leadership, treasury, tax, and FP&A to ensure alignment of financial data across reporting functions.Drive process improvements and automation within the financial reporting function.Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on accounting and regulatory matters.Qualifications
