Industrial MechanicPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our steel mill operations team. The primary purpose of this role is to maintain, repair, and optimize mill machines and industrial equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform predictive and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems, and support reliability initiatives while following Lockout/Tagout and other safety procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and emergency repairs on mill machines, industrial machinery, and material handling equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.Execute Lockout/Tagout procedures and other safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for maintenance and operations personnel.Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log work orders, update equipment histories, schedule preventive maintenance, and track parts and labor.Conduct predictive maintenance activities including vibration analysis, thermography inspections, oil analysis, and other condition-monitoring techniques to identify potential failures before they occur.Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, mechanical drives, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, motors, and gear reducers.Disassemble, inspect, align, and reassemble mill machines and subassemblies; perform machining, fitting, and basic welding as needed.Collaborate with reliability and engineering teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing equipment uptime and performance.Maintain accurate maintenance records, prepare reports on repairs and reliability trends, and recommend spare parts and inventory adjustments.Assist with installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment and upgrades, ensuring proper alignment and functional testing.Train and mentor junior maintenance personnel on safe practices, standard procedures, and diagnostic techniques.Qualifications5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a steel mill or heavy industrial environment, with direct experience on mill machines and industrial machine repairs.Proven expertise with Lockout/Tagout procedures and a strong commitment to safety compliance.Demonstrated experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders and maintenance history.Skilled in predictive maintenance techniques (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, or similar condition monitoring methods).Strong mechanical and hydraulic system diagnostic and repair skills; experience servicing hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, and cylinders.Proficient reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.Ability to operate hand and power tools, hoisting equipment, and basic welding equipment; millwright, machinist, or trade school training preferred.Excellent problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills; able to work rotating shifts, overtime, and respond to emergency calls as required.High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate, vocational training, or journeyman status in a related trade is preferred.Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces and outdoor mill environments.BenefitsVacation/PTO Medical Dental Vision 401k   Email Your Resume In Word ToKylie.Mullins@CyberCoders.comLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
