Industrial Electrical Systems Technician - Testing & ControlsLocation: Henrico, VAEmployment Type: Direct HireCompensation: Starting at $60,000+ annually (based on experience and technical background)Position SummaryWe are seeking a technically skilled Industrial Electrical Systems Technician to support testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and controls-related activities within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving and working with electrical systems, automated equipment, and production support teams.The position involves both independent technical work and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing personnel to ensure systems perform reliably and efficiently.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical and functional testing on systems, assemblies, and componentsConfigure power, control, and communication connections required for testing operationsUtilize diagnostic instruments to capture, analyze, and document electrical performance dataTroubleshoot electrical circuits, control systems, relays, and electronic componentsRead and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentationMaintain, inspect, and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliabilitySupport production schedules by managing priorities and completing testing activities on timeAssist with RF shielding evaluation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair supportWork with three-phase electrical systems, motors, generators, relays, and industrial controlsSupport PLC troubleshooting activities and assist with basic programming modificationsDiagnose issues involving VFDs, automated machinery, and control systemsRequired QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience working with electrical, electronic, or industrial control systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagramsExperience using testing and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and analyzersStrong troubleshooting ability with excellent attention to detailEffective communication, organization, and technical documentation skillsAbility to work independently and take initiative in a hands-on environmentRequirementsMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearanceU.S. Citizenship is requiredPreferred ExperienceFamiliarity with PLC systems and relay-based controlsExperience with motor controls, generators, and industrial electrical systemsBackground in RF testing, shielding evaluation, or repair workFamiliarity with AutoCADMechatronics training, technical certification, or related educationLicensed electrician experience is a plusWork EnvironmentThis role involves a combination of independent troubleshooting and collaborative project support within engineering and production environments.
