Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer to support the development of a strategic AI-powered loans platform within a leading financial services organization. This engineer will play a critical role in building scalable applications and services supporting the modernization of complex loan and structured credit workflows, leveraging Java, Spring Boot, Angular, REST APIs, Kafka, and modern distributed architectures. This role is heavily hands-on and ideal for an engineer who enjoys coding, prototyping, solving complex technical challenges, and taking ownership of applications from development through execution. This is a 12-month contract position based in Dallas, TX, requiring 4 days onsite and 1 day remote. Key Responsibilities: • Full Stack Application Development: Design, build, and enhance scalable applications using Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, and Spring Boot across applications supporting loan and financial workflows. • Backend & API Development: Develop robust Java and Spring Boot services, REST APIs, and business logic supporting scalable and resilient applications. The role is more heavily focused on backend development while still requiring strong full-stack capabilities. • Modern UI Development: Build and enhance Angular-based user interfaces that support loan processing, financial workflows, and modern user experiences. • Microservices & Event-Driven Architecture: Develop and support distributed services and event-driven applications utilizing technologies such as Kafka to enable scalable and resilient platform capabilities. • Platform & Data Integration: Integrate applications with APIs, distributed services, and data platforms such as Snowflake to support enterprise financial workflows and platform functionality. • End-to-End Ownership: Participate in solution design, coding, prototyping, testing, deployment, debugging, and ongoing production support for assigned technical components. • Collaboration & Agile Delivery: Partner with product managers, architects, engineers, operations teams, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions within an agile environment. • Technical Problem Solving: Analyze complex technical challenges, develop practical solutions, and contribute to architectural and engineering decisions across a new platform being built from the ground up. • Quality & Performance Focus: Contribute to code quality, application performance, automated testing, reliability, and modern software engineering best practices. Qualifications: • 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on full-stack development capabilities. • Strong Java and Spring Boot development experience, with a strong focus on backend application development. • Strong Angular development experience with JavaScript and TypeScript. • Experience building and integrating REST APIs, microservices, and distributed applications. • Experience with Kafka or other event-driven architecture technologies. • Experience working with Snowflake or comparable data platforms. • Experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as Codex, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies. • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, application architecture, distributed systems, and problem solving. • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering and business teams. • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment with aggressive delivery timelines. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Preferred Experience: • Financial services, banking, capital markets, or lending/loans experience. • Exposure to AI/LLM-enabled applications or AI-powered platforms. • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, or modern DevOps practices. • Experience working on greenfield platforms or early-stage technology initiatives. • Experience with cloud-native application development and modern distributed architectures.
