The current model is a 3 hospitalist model. Under this model, there will be approximately 14 shifts per month and covering every 1 in 3 weekends. A combination of Hospitalists and primary care physicians work together to provide 24 hour coverage for the programThe average inpatient census at NCH is 17 patients. There is a 4-bed ICU/CCU unit equipped with new monitors and beds, staffed by experienced Registered Nurses 24 hours a day and managed by an ICU director. A staff Pulmonologist is available for consultation. Phone consultation with Intensivists and other specialists is also available through University of Vermont Medical Center and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.The candidate must be experienced in Hospital medicine, with the ability to work independently and manage ICU patients. The physician must have competency in central line placement and ventilator management.Requirements Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Experience in Hospital Medicine including ICU management. Expertise and confidence to work independently.
