Join our team and make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.The DSP will assist individuals with intellectual disabilities, in a one-on-one setting, to reach their individualized goals. Services can take place in the individual's home or in the community. This position requires all candidates to have a working vehicle, up to date vehicle documents and a valid driver's license. Use of personal vehicle required for community outings.ResponsibilitiesAssist with daily living tasks such as hygiene, meal preparation, and transportationProvide direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activitiesAssist with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and groomingSupport individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skillsImplement individualized care plans and document progressAssist with medication administration as neededProvide transportation to appointments, community outings, and recreational activitiesFoster a safe and supportive environment for individuals with disabilitiesRequirementsMust be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license with less than 5 pointsMust have and maintain a reliable vehicle, valid auto registration and insurance.Ability to pass State, Federal, and drug testsCompletion of required DSP trainingExperience working with individuals with disabilities or in a similar caregiving roleStrong communication and interpersonal skillsCompassionate and patient demeanorCPR and first certification requiredAbility to lift/push/pull 30 lbs.Additional Requirements for Behavioral Cases:Experience with ABA-based interventionsData collection and reporting skills (Boggs Center PBIS training or equivalent training preferred)Why Join Us?Here are some of the benefits of joining Guided Steps NJ.Flexible Scheduling: Enjoy access to a diverse array of cases across Central and Northern New Jersey, with the ability to select a caseload to fit your schedule.Great Pay: starting at $20.00-$26.00 per hour.-Up to $1000 sign on bonus- Health Insurance-Weekly Pay-Paid Time off-Unlimited Referral Bonuses-Professional Development Assistance and Training-Employee Perks Program-Voluntary benefitsWhether you're a seasoned DSP or just starting out in your career, we have the resources and support you need to succeed.
