Bonus Eligible PTO 401K Match Great Benefits Job Details Director of Finance / Controller Location: Raleigh–Durham, NC (On-Site Preferred) The Opportunity We’re hiring a Director of Finance / Controller who can take ownership of the full finance and accounting function across several businesses under shared ownership. This is a high-visibility, hands-on leadership role supporting the CFO and partnering with business units to drive financial clarity, operational excellence, and strategic growth. What You’ll Do Financial Leadership & Reporting Lead accounting and finance operations across multiple entities with different business models. Oversee month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and consolidated financial reporting. Build accurate financial statements, dashboards, and performance analyses for leadership. Drive cash flow forecasting, variance analysis, ROI insights, and long-range planning. Maintain and improve accounting controls, processes, and systems. Operational Accounting Oversight Oversee AP, AR, GL, billing, collections, and payroll coordination. Support unique revenue cycles (e.g., orthodontic billing, aviation, media, and real estate invoicing). Ensure compliance with tax filings and regulatory reporting. Partner with outside accountants, auditors, and tax advisors. Strategic Partnership Serve as a key advisor to the CFO—providing financial insights that shape business strategy. Work cross-functionally with leaders across each business line to improve operations. Identify cost savings, process efficiencies, and performance opportunities. Team Leadership Manage and develop a Financial Analyst / Bookkeeper. Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience; multi-entity experience highly preferred Strong experience with QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting systems Proven ability to build and interpret financial statements and management reports Detail-oriented analytical thinker with strong business acumen Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with minimal supervision Preferred: Experience in aviation, real estate, marketing/media, hospitality/entertainment, or professional services Background with consolidations, intercompany transactions, and complex ownership models Revenue recognition and accrual accounting experience Interested in hearing more?
