Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.AWW1 Shift Hours are Friday, Saturday & Sunday 7 AM-7 PMWhat You Will DoOversee daily forging operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are metSupervise and coordinate forge team members, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance management; address employee concerns, enforce policies, and maintain a positive team environmentMonitor equipment (presses, furnaces) to ensure proper operation and coordinate with maintenance for repairsEnforce safety protocols, PPE compliance, and safe handling of high-temperature materials and heavy equipment; ensure adherence to work instructions, process specifications, and quality standardsIdentify and troubleshoot forging defects (e.g., underfill, cracks, laps) and implement corrective actions; collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes and resolve technical issuesTrack production metrics, downtime, and efficiency; report on KPIs to management; train and develop operators on forging techniques, equipment use, and standard workManage material flow, including billet handling, heating cycles, and finished part movement; support continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, waste reduction, cycle time improvement)Maintain documentation, shift reports, and production records; coordinate shift handoffs to ensure continuity of operationsEnsure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirementsWhat You Will LearnHands-on experience with forging processes, including material behavior at high temperatures and deformation techniquesDeep understanding of forge equipment (presses, hammers, furnaces) and how to optimize their performanceAdvanced troubleshooting skills for common forging defects and process variabilityLeadership and team management skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentHow to balance safety, quality, and production demands in real-time operationsExposure to cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations teamsData-driven decision-making using production metrics, KPIs, and efficiency trackingContinuous improvement methodologies such as lean manufacturing and waste reductionBest practices in workplace safety, hazard mitigation, and regulatory complianceEffective communication and escalation techniques within a structured manufacturing environmentPlanning and execution of production schedules to meet business targetsCoaching, training, and developing a skilled hourly workforceQualifications You Must HaveBachelor's Degree and minimum 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related environment or an Associate's Degree and 7 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related environmentIn absence of a degree, High School diploma or equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environmentUnderstanding of internal and external customer expectations/requirements to resolving findingsProficiency with Microsoft Office productsQualifications We PreferExperience in a supervisory/team lead capacityUnderstanding of CORE/Lean manufacturing tools and conceptsSAP user experiencePlease ensure the role type defined below is appropriate for your needs before applying to this role. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
