Medical Business Development Manager
We are seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth within the medical device, diagnostics, and drug delivery markets. This is a proactive “hunter” role focused on acquiring new OEM customers and securing multi-year manufacturing programs in ISO 13485 regulated environments.
The ideal candidate brings experience in medical injection molding or contract manufacturing and thrives on prospecting, penetrating complex organizations, and closing high-value programs.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
Identify and target strategic medical OEMs aligned with PCI manufacturing capabilities.
Prospect and penetrate new accounts, engaging decision-makers across R&D, engineering, sourcing, and executive leadership.
Lead discovery discussions to uncover unmet manufacturing needs.
Convert early-stage opportunities into RFQs and awarded programs.
Pipeline & Opportunity Management
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified new business opportunities.
Drive opportunities from initial contact through DFM collaboration, quotation, negotiation, and award.
Maintain accurate CRM data, forecasting, and disciplined follow-up.
Solution-Based Selling
Position full product lifecycle capabilities including DFM, tooling, automation, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and production scale-up.
Partner cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations to develop winning technical and commercial strategies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
5–7+ years of business development experience in medical injection molding or medical contract manufacturing.
Proven success securing new OEM customers in regulated manufacturing environments (FDA, ISO 13485).
Strong understanding of DFM, tooling strategies, injection molding, and validation processes within plastics contract manufacturing.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to translate technical capabilities into customer value.
Highly organized, persistent, and results-driven.
