Financial ParalegalJob DescriptionThe paralegal will provide organizational and practice specific assistance to attorneys in banking, corporate, and financial law.Qualifications5- 8 years paralegal experience as a paralegal at a law firmFamiliar with federal and NY state court litigationBachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal CertificateProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams)The individual will have strong analytical and organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines as well as strong oral and written communication skills; the ability to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion; the ability to work under pressure and exercise good judgmentDemonstrated ability to interact at a professional level with clients and attorneysAbility to meet deadlines and work under pressure as required by deadlines, etc.Ability to exhibit professionalism and promote positive work habits, including effective and timely communication, teamwork and respect for co-workersCommunicate critical information by conveying that information clearly, accurately, honestly and concisely in accordance with firm policies and proceduresAbility to grasp and apply new ideas quickly and with minimal instruction JobResponsibilities:Work hand-in-hand with attorneys on case planning, development and managementReview and organize all records, documents and deposition testimony to ensure completeness of all file materialsExtensive document managementContact opposing counsel when discovery responses are not timely providedReview and summarize information relevant to the case obtained through discovery requests, depositions and recordsCoordinate and schedule depositionsReview all documents being produced for any privileged information and prepare privilege logs, as necessaryAttend team calendar meetings and make sure that all individuals involved in any case are aware of all calendar itemsMay provide computer litigation supportThe information contained herein is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job, nor are they intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to do the job.
