This role is ideal for designers with a strong background in interior architecture and a passion for high-end residential design.You will play a key role in leading interior architecture efforts, contributing to project design direction, overseeing technical documentation, and mentoring junior team members within a collaborative studio environment.ResponsibilitiesLead and support the development of interior architecture for a variety of residential and hospitality projectsProduce detailed interior drawing sets, including plans, elevations, sections, millwork details, and schedulesGuide material, finish, and fixture selections, ensuring clear documentation and coordinationCollaborate closely with project managers, architects, and designers across the firmWork closely with and seek direction from the Interiors Creative Director and the Director of Interior ArchitectureProvide mentorship, technical guidance, and quality oversight for junior staffCoordinate with vendors, consultants, and contractors to ensure design intent is maintainedParticipate in project delivery from concept design through construction administrationQualifications5–8 years of professional experience in architecture or interior architecture (custom residential experience preferred)Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture from an accredited institutionHighly skilled with Revit and/or AutoCADExperience with visualization tools such as Enscape, Lumion, SketchUp, and Autodesk programsStrong design sensibility with demonstrated experience developing cohesive interior conceptsExcellent communication, coordination, and organizational skillsExperience mentoring or overseeing the work of junior team membersAbility to work full-time, in person, at our Chicago studioWhy Northworks?Northworks is a collaborative, design-focused practice that values creativity, leadership, and ongoing professional growth.
