Technical Sales Lead – AI & Life Sciences PlatformLocation: Europe (Remote)About the OpportunityWe are partnered with a rapidly growing AI-driven life sciences technology company that is transforming how pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations leverage complex biological data to accelerate research and drug discovery.As part of continued growth, we are seeking a Technical Sales Lead to drive enterprise opportunities across pharmaceutical and biotech customers. This role combines scientific expertise, technical solution selling, commercial leadership, and strategic customer engagement.You will play a critical role in helping prospective customers understand the value of cutting-edge AI, data, and computational biology technologies whilst guiding them through complex enterprise purchasing processes.MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDEREDCandidates must currently work, or have recently worked, for a life sciences software, AI, cloud, bioinformatics, scientific informatics, data platform, or scientific technology company that sells solutions into pharmaceutical or biotechnology customers.Examples include:Life sciences software providersAI and machine learning platformsScientific informatics companiesBioinformatics software vendorsCloud technology providersEnterprise SaaS platforms serving pharmaceutical R&DDrug discovery technology platformsComputational biology software companiesCandidates without experience selling software, cloud, AI, or scientific technology solutions into pharmaceutical customers will not be considered.The RoleAs Technical Sales Lead, you will own the technical component of the sales cycle, partnering closely with Account Executives, Product, Engineering, and Scientific teams to secure new business and expand strategic customer relationships.You will act as the bridge between customer scientific needs and technical platform capabilities, ensuring customers can confidently evaluate and adopt the solution.Key ResponsibilitiesLead technical and scientific discussions throughout the enterprise sales process.Partner with commercial teams to develop and execute account strategies.Deliver compelling product demonstrations, technical presentations, workshops, and proof-of-value engagements.Understand customer research workflows and map platform capabilities to business and scientific objectives.Support enterprise procurement processes, including technical due diligence and vendor assessments.Lead responses to RFPs, RFIs, security questionnaires, and technical evaluation processes.Work with pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers to identify opportunities for platform adoption and expansion.Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to communicate market requirements and customer feedback.Develop trusted relationships with scientific, technical, and executive stakeholders.Support conference activities, industry events, and customer-facing thought leadership initiatives.Essential ExperienceExperience working for a life sciences software, AI, cloud, bioinformatics, scientific informatics, or scientific technology provider serving pharmaceutical customers.Proven experience selling complex software, SaaS, cloud, AI, data, or scientific technology solutions into pharmaceutical or biotechnology organisations.Experience managing enterprise technical sales cycles.Experience owning or contributing to pharmaceutical RFPs, RFIs, security reviews, procurement processes, and vendor assessments.Strong understanding of pharmaceutical R&D, drug discovery, biologics, genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or AI-enabled research environments.Ability to engage effectively with scientists, bioinformaticians, IT teams, procurement stakeholders, and senior executives.Strong commercial acumen and consultative selling skills.PreferredPhD in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biotechnology, Data Science, or a related discipline.Experience with AI platforms, cloud technologies, scientific software, data platforms, or computational biology solutions.Familiarity with enterprise SaaS, machine learning, bioinformatics workflows, and pharmaceutical research environments.Ideal BackgroundsWe are particularly interested in candidates from organisations such as:AWSMicrosoft AzureGoogle CloudDataikuDatabricksSnowflakePalantirBenchlingDotmaticsVeevaMedidataIQVIACausalySchrödingerOwkinExscientiaRecursionSimilar life sciences software, AI, cloud, or scientific technology providers serving pharmaceutical customersInterested?Please apply directly or send an updated CV to agreatorex@barringtonjames.com.
