Transmission Engineer - PLS-CADD
Job Description
We are seeking a Transmission Engineer for our expanding utility consulting services business. This highly motivated and qualified individual will perform design work on high voltage electrical projects. In addition to this, may work with/ supervise/ coordinate the work of other engineers assigned to electrical T&D projects. This role will require someone to have existing experience utilizing PLS-CADD software. Typical clients are Electric Utilities and other Independent Power Generators.
This is a remote position that will require minimum (10% travel to the home office)
Pay is dependent on applicable experience by candidate: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year.

Responsibilities of the Transmission Engineer:
Perform detailed design reviews
Provide guidance and direction on project deliverables
Verify conformance to client standards
Transmission and distribution line design
Analysis of Transmission and Distribution lines
Transmission Line materials specification
Generation interconnection design
Marketing and Business Development to current and new Clients
Project Management (as a component of design effort) to include:
Planning and alternative assessment
Regulatory permit process management
Construction cost estimating
Communication with department management and project team
Requirements of the Transmission Engineer:
Applicable associates degree required (2 year) – Bachelor’s degree preferred
PLS-CADD software experience
Professional Engineering license or fast-track path to licensure is preferred
Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignment
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Must successfully complete drug screening and background check, including 7-year criminal history check and Motor Vehicle Record check
Valid driver’s license

Required to travel up to 10% to other offices, client meetings or for site inspections and construction support
Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity, such as keyboarding; most of the work day
Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 30 pounds rarely
Required to exert physical effort in navigating rough native terrain, during field inspection occasionally
