Senior Accountant Oil & Energy

About The RoleWe are seeking an Accountant III with strong experience in regulated revenue accounting within the Oil & Energy industry. This role is ideal for a mid‑senior accounting professional who can independently manage complex accounting activities, support month‑end close, and provide analytical insights that support leadership decision‑making.You will serve as a resource for internal and external stakeholders, support audit processes, and help identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process optimization. This position requires strong analytical skills, mature judgment, and the ability to work with minimal direction.Key ResponsibilitiesMonth-End Close & ReportingPerform journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reportingSupport SEC reporting activitiesPrepare and maintain schedules, reports, and analyses for internal and external customersRevenue Accounting & ComplianceAnalyze large volumes of financial data, transactions, and revenue activityEnsure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirementsProvide documentation and explanations for internal and external auditsProcess Improvement & CollaborationParticipate in small projects with minimal supervisionIdentify opportunities to streamline accounting processes through technology and automationSupport cross-functional communication and collaboration across departmentsAdditional ResponsibilitiesAssist with documentation of accounting policies and proceduresServe as a resource for less experienced accountantsPerform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field4+ years of accounting experience in the energy industryStrong analytical, financial, and problem‑solving skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Excellent organizational and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently with limited directionPreferred QualificationsCPARevenue Accounting experienceFamiliarity with US GAAPExperience with FERC‑regulated companiesExperience supporting audits and regulatory reportingWhat You Can ExpectA role that allows you to apply advanced accounting expertiseOpportunities to mentor junior team membersA collaborative environment focused on continuous improvementExposure to regulated revenue accounting in a leading energy organization
