With operations in the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, and Australia, we specialize in the design, manufacture, and installation of retrofit cathodic protection systems, as well as corrosion engineering and inspection services.As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller to lead our Houston accounting function and help drive operational excellence across our global business.Position SummaryThe Financial Controller will report directly to the Director of Finance and serve as the senior accounting leader for our Houston office. This role is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and developing a high-performing accounting team.This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, global environment and partnering cross-functionally to improve processes, strengthen reporting, and support strategic decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activitiesManage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processesPrepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and company policiesOversee multi-currency consolidations, foreign exchange accounting, and intercompany eliminationsEnsure accurate revenue recognition, accruals, reserves, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet reconciliationsAnalyze financial and operational performance, including budget and forecast variances, trends, risks, and opportunitiesCoordinate annual budgeting and monthly forecasting activities across multiple business units and locationsMaintain audit-ready supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentationPartner with external auditors and advisors on audits, technical accounting matters, and process improvementsSupport tax-related activities including sales/use tax, VAT, franchise tax, and other regulatory filingsLead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance staff while fostering a collaborative, accountable team cultureDrive process improvements and strengthen financial systems and controlsQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experiencePrior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferredExperience with international operations and intercompany accounting strongly preferredProven leadership experience managing and developing accounting teamsStrong understanding of financial reporting, consolidations, and internal controlsExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organizationAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environmentWhat We’re Looking ForWe are looking for a proactive and solutions-oriented leader who:Demonstrates professionalism and accountabilityHas a strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlinesBuilds strong relationships across finance, operations, supply chain, and leadership teamsTakes initiative and drives continuous improvementBrings a collaborative, hands-on leadership styleWhy Join Deepwater?Opportunity to work with a global industry leaderCollaborative and entrepreneurial work environmentHigh visibility role with direct impact on business operations and strategyCareer growth and leadership development opportunitiesCompetitive compensation and benefits packageIf you are an experienced accounting leader looking to make an impact in a growing international organization, we encourage you to apply.
