Construction Controller  About the RoleServes as the primary financial advisor to Ownership, responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and interpretation of the company’s financials. The Controller oversees construction contract accounting, including WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, and job cost financial management within Sage 300 CRE, while managing the Accounting Group workflow. The Controller ensures the company remains liquid, bondable, and financially disciplined, identifies risk, challenges assumptions, and provides financial insight to support decision-making. This is a hands-on, high-accountability role in a company that values accuracy, ownership, and clear financial strategy.  About AlltechAlltech Engineering Corp is a specialty contractor providing millwright services, equipment installation, rigging, and industrial maintenance to manufacturing and processing facilities. Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Close ManagementOwn the monthly close process, financial statements, and reporting calendarEnsure accurate preparation and presentation of:Income statementBalance sheetWork-in-Process (WIP schedule)Enforce accounting policies and internal controlsEnsure consistency with GAAPProvide leadership and direction to the accounting, AR, and AP staffManage relationships with CPA firm, lenders, and surety partnersPrepare annual audit workpapersContract Accounting & Revenue RecognitionOversee percent complete calculations (percentage of completion)Ensure proper recognition of earned revenue (WIP revenue)Review and approve contract asset and contract liability balances (under/over billings)Ensure accurate reconciliation between job costs, earned revenue, billings and contract balancesReview and challenge project manager forecasts for reasonableness and consistencyEvaluate cost-to-complete estimates and identify margin fade or gain Cash Flow & Working Capital ManagementMaintain visibility into:Operating cash balancesNear-term cash obligationsMonitor:Accounts receivable agingRetainage receivableAccounts payable obligationsCoordinate billing and collections timing with cash needsIdentify liquidity risks early and propose mitigation strategies What Success In This Role Looks LikeTimely, accurate monthly closesTrusted WIP and contract asset / liability balances Predictable cash flow with no financial surprisesStrong credibility with CPA, banks, and suretiesWell-managed accounting workflow supporting accurate billing, invoicing, AR, AP, and job costing.QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (required)Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA (preferred, not required)Professional Certifications (one or more preferred)CPA (strongly preferred)CMA or CCIFP (preferred)Experience7–12+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience3–5+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting leadership roleExperience working with:External CPA firms (audit/review/tax)Banks and lendersExperience managing an accounting teamDirect experience with construction and long-term project accounting (required)Systems & TechnologyHands-on experience with Sage 300 CREAdvanced Excel skills (financial modeling, reconciliations, pivot tables)Experience with Microsoft Access (preferred)Experience implementing or improving accounting systems and workflows Financial Management SkillsCash flow and working capital management experienceFamiliarity with:Lines of creditCovenant monitoring (formal or informal)Capital expenditure evaluation Leadership & Communication·        Proven ability to lead and develop accounting staff·        Proficient in communicating financial concepts to non-financial leaders·        High level of professional judgment and discretion·        Comfortable operating with autonomy and accountability Personal Attributes·        High integrity and reliability·        Detail-oriented with a strong sense of materiality·        Calm under pressure; no surprises mindset·        Comfortable pushing back when assumptions are weak·        Ability and inclination to maintain confidentiality·        Pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach·        Uncompromising discretion and judgment in handling sensitive financial information Alltech is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
