SummaryRole Overview: Under close supervision, the Radiologic Technologist (Multiple Modality) performs a variety of duties in the Department of Radiology/ Imaging Services of Alameda Health System related to general Radiography/Fluoroscopy. Performs various diagnostic imaging examinations of patients as directed for diagnostic and treatment purposes according to established procedures. Perform s related duties as required.DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.Assists Physician in administering opaque media (contrast)Rotates assignments within the department by assigned shifts as required to meet departmental needsProcesses Images as appropriate for Modality (CR/DR/Film) and is proficient in utilizing the PACS system (Picture Archival Communications) Maintains adequate records of examinations/dose/contrast as directed, and appropriately utilizing two patient identifier with each patient examAssists with movement of patients (rooming/transport)Assists in the development/optimization of technical factors for radiographic proceduresMay assist in equipment or procedures not routinely taught in schoolMay assist in the training of studentsPerforms a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with designate areas or procedures as requiredPerforms all general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties as determined by employer.Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contaminationMaintains orderliness and cleanliness of environment and suppliesEnsure utilization of non-expired supplies by checking stock regularly and using “first in first out” rule of re stockingProduces Radiographs, positions and transfers patients, and provides immobilization devices as necessary to obtain imagesProvides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards.Ensure utilizing techniques that promote ALARA on an individual patient basis (As Low as Reasonably Achieved) for radiation exposureSelects and operates all imaging equipment as directed and licensed to perform.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.Required Education: High school Diploma or equivalent, Graduation from an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology, or military equivalent.Preferred Education: Associates Degree or Bachelor’s DegreeRequired Experience: Proficient in a minimum of two Modalities. Modalities may include: Xray and Fluoroscopy, All must have this plus one additional modality: NOTE: for CT/MRI Internal promotion must have required below prior to promotion, External hire, must obtain within 6 months for CT/MRI), CT (Computed Tomography)- ARRT (CT) Required, Venipuncture Certificate Required, Mammography CRT (M) Required, MRI- ARRT (MRI) Required.Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid certificate as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the State of California Department of Public HealthRequired Licenses/Certifications: Valid ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification, and other ARRT certifications as it relates to each modality where appropriateRequired Licenses/Certifications: Valid Fluoroscopy Permit issued by the State of CaliforniaRequired Licenses/Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support Certification - issued by AHA-American Heart Association.Pay Range $64.66 - $85.13/hrThe pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
