The R&D Director drives bold product innovation from early concept through pilot-scale development, transforming consumer insights into differentiated, market-ready food products. This role leads R&D teams and partners cross-functionally to accelerate ideas, elevate product performance, and seamlessly transition innovation into manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end development of new products and line extensions Convert consumer, customer, and market insights into breakthrough concepts and formulations Provide technical leadership in food science, formulation, processing, and ingredient functionality Guide sensory evaluation, shelf-life studies, and product optimization Build, mentor, and inspire high-performing R&D teams while managing budgets and resources Collaborate with Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercialization to launch scalable solutions Ensure compliance with food safety, labeling, and regulatory requirements Track emerging trends and champion continuous improvement, speed-to-market, and innovation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or related field (Master's preferred) 7+ years of food R&D experience, including 3+ years leading teams Proven success bringing food products from concept to pilot scale Strong expertise in formulation, sensory science, shelf-life testing, and regulations Innovative leader with strong project management and communication skills Forward a resume to Doug Hammond at dhammond@seekprofessionals.com - apply at www.seekprofessionals.com or call 920-964-0333.
