Our hospitals, care sites and clinicians are recognized for clinical and operational excellence.Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) - Anderson HospitalJob Summary:The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient statusDetermining the priority of the patient's problems and needsImplementing clinical nursing interventions to acute, critical patients that require intensive medical careDeveloping and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomesEnsuring a safe and therapeutic environmentEssential Functions:Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care teamConduct initial and ongoing patient assessmentObserves the surgery and surgical team from a broad perspective and assists the team to create and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the patientResponsible for managing the nursing care of the patient within the OR and coordinating the needs of the surgical team with other care providersProvides pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, including assessment and discharge instructionsOther duties as assignedEducation:* Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in NursingCertifications:Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)BLS Basic Life Support, ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS and/or PALS may be required within 6 months based on specific surgical department requirements)CNOR Certified Perioperative Nurse (preferred, not required)SGNA Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (preferred, not required)Experience:* Two years of RN experience in Critical Care Department (preferred, not required)* Completion of OR internship program (preferred, not required)Training:* Successful completion of Peri-op 101 (preferred, not required)As a Bon Secours Mercy Health associate, you're part of a Mission that matters.
