Our client in Illinois is seeking an experienced Hematologist/Oncologist to undertake a 60-day assignment beginning May 27, 2026. This locum tenens Physician role operates on a Monday to Friday schedule with an integrated call rotation, focusing on comprehensive patient care for new oncology and hematology referrals, managing acute leukemia, and providing critical inpatient consultations.Responsibilities and DutiesManage new patient oncology and hematology referrals.Oversee acute leukemia and malignant hematology cases.Provide hospital inpatient consultations.Initiate patient transfers as necessary.Collaborate with infusion center charge nurses regarding patient labs and treatments.See 8-10 patients daily in clinic for new oncology/hematology referrals.Conduct hospital consultations for oncology/hematology patients admitted by hospitalists.Additional InformationBoard certification in Hematology and Medical Oncology required.EMR: Epic.Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Bone Marrow Biopsy (BMB) are not required for this role.BenefitsStrong compensationTravel-related expenses coveredA-rated medical malpractice insurance providedDedicated recruiter for future travel opportunitiesWhat are Locum Tenens Jobs?Locum tenens jobs, sometimes referred to as travel assignments, are contract positions that help meet patient care needs at various healthcare facilities and hospitals for a defined period.
