Since 1992, we’ve provided turnkey logistics services including Canadian and U.S. Customs Brokerage, Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Ground Freight, Trade Consulting, and more.For more information about our team and services, please visit our website.About the OpportunityJORI Logistics is seeking a highly experienced Senior Trade Compliance Specialist (Licensed Customs Broker) to serve as our lead subject matter expert for all Canadian trade compliance matters.Reporting directly to the Manager of Canadian Operations, this senior-level role holds full ownership of the Canadian adjustment process and serves as the primary consultant for complex client compliance inquiries. This position goes beyond day-to-day execution and plays a critical role as an educator, mentor, and strategic advisor to both internal teams and external clients.The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-directed leader with deep regulatory expertise who can mitigate risk, improve compliance accuracy, and provide trusted guidance to both operations and client stakeholders. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:1. Canadian Adjustment Process OwnershipManage the end-to-end adjustment process under CARM, including Commercial Accounting Declaration (CAD) adjustments, mass adjustments, and voluntary disclosuresEnsure all CAD adjustments are prepared accurately and submitted within CBSA pre- and post-payment timelinesConduct root cause analysis to identify error trends and implement corrective actionsProvide training and guidance to internal teams to reduce recurring discrepancies2. Client Consulting, Education & EngagementAct as the senior compliance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex Canadian customs inquiriesServe as the primary compliance point of contact for client consultationsLead client meetings and deliver presentations on specialized compliance topics such as tariff classification, customs valuation, rules of origin, and CARMContribute to Canadian compliance educational content, including regulatory updates and client-facing webinarsRepresent JORI and support clients during CBSA compliance verifications and audits3.
