Global Trade Compliance Manager

Job DescriptionJob Overview:Report to the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, leading the company’s global trade compliance program for all business lines in a multinational EPCI environment, covering sanctions, export controls, and customs complianceResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and Responsibilities:Oversee and maintain global trade compliance policies, procedures, controls, and best practices; drive consistent implementation across regions, projects, and functionsAdvise business lines and corporate functions on the interpretation and application of applicable trade regulations (e.g., EAR, ITAR as applicable, OFAC, customs rules, and local requirements)Continuously improve export control processes, including technology control plans, deemed export controls (where applicable), recordkeeping, and audit-ready documentationDirect export classification and licensing support, including product/technology classification, end-use/end-user reviews, and screening/escalation workflowsOversee customs compliance activities, including HTS classification support, duty rate reviews, provide valuation/origin guidance, and import/export documentation requirementsSupport Global Logistics on preferential duty programs and free trade agreements; partner with Supply Chain to capture savings while maintaining compliancePartner with Global Logistics to oversee third-party compliance with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners; define requirements, monitor performance, and enforce corrective actionsLead responses to customs and government inquiries in trade compliance areas and manage post-entry activities (e.g., reconciliations, voluntary disclosures/tenders, protests, and post-summary corrections) in coordination with Legal and business stakeholdersMonitor global regulatory changes and identify and advise operational and contractual impactsCollaborate with Internal Audit and other corporate functions. Plan and execute risk-based trade compliance audits across business units and third parties; oversee remediation to closure and report outcomes to leadershipDesign and implement enabling technology for export controls and trade data management; define data standards and controls with ITDevelop and deliver role-based training for functional groups on sanctions, export controls, customs compliance, and company proceduresBuild strong, collaborative partnerships with Business Lines, functions, Legal and Compliance and embed requirements into processes and project executionQualificationsEssential Qualifications and Education:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain, international business, or a related field10+ years of global trade compliance experience, including deep working knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Customs regulations, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctionsDemonstrated experience designing, implementing, and sustaining a trade compliance program, including policies, controls, training, audits, and remediationProven ability to lead change, drive continuous improvement, and influence stakeholders across multiple business lines and geographiesDesire to work in a collaborative team environmentStrong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to deliver effective compliance trainingStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesAbility to translate regulatory requirements into practical guidance for projects and transactions and to work independently with cross-functional teamsPreferred Qualifications and Education:Experience with EU/UK trade laws and practices and other non-U.S. regulatory regimesLicensed customs broker (or equivalent) preferredAbout UsOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
