Overview In this role you will provide engineering leadership to optimize tissue machine performance, safety, quality, and efficiency. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to drive continuous improvements and support downtime activities. You’ll apply data-driven analysis and problem-solving to reduce losses and ensure environmental and safety compliance. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position at a global industry leader focused on sustainable, high-quality tissue production. You will play a key part in shaping reliability and process optimization across the machine lifecycle. Compensation / Benefitscompetitive compensation with growth opportunities and annual performance bonusmedical, dental, vision benefits401(k) matchgenerous PTOtraining and career developmentcollaborative, innovative workplace with a global leader ResponsibilitiesApply engineering principles to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance by addressing root causes of process losses.Analyze production data and equipment performance to recommend machine optimization.Lead or support studies, trials, and continuous improvement initiatives across machine operations, pulping, drying, converting interfaces, utilities, and process reliability.Develop and execute technical action plans using problem-solving tools and standard engineering methods.Support product quality improvement through audits, investigations, and corrective actions for nonconforming products.Prepare and justify capital and reliability projects including scope, cost estimates, and commissioning support.Coordinate planned maintenance downtimes with technical priorities and start-up activities.Ensure changes comply with safety, environmental, lockout/tagout, and quality standards.Develop and standardize SOPs, technical documentation, and training materials for machine operation.Provide technical guidance to operations, maintenance, and process leads on performance and troubleshooting.Participate in operating reviews to communicate findings and track progress on technical improvement plans. Key requirementsBachelor’s degree or +10 years of relevant professional experience in manufacturing, paper/tissue production, process engineering, reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or industrial operationsAbility to analyze process data, troubleshoot industrial equipment, and lead technical improvement projectsKnowledge of machinery, process controls, mechanical systems, safety systems, quality systems, and manufacturing best practicesAbility to prepare technical reports, recommendations, project scopes, and performance summariesStrong communication, organization, leadership, analytical, decision-making, and time-management skillsProficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn and use production, maintenance, quality, and process data systemsStrong communicationOrganizational skillsLeadershipData analysis of production and process variablesTroubleshooting industrial equipmentProcess controls and mechanical systems
