Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse functions as a vital member of the healthcare team who contributes to the success of the practice by demonstrating patient focus, effective communication, professionalism, and teamwork. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements; initiates plan of careEstablishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and familiesPromotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questionsAssures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards of care set by board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulationsResolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategiesProtects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulationsJob RequirementsEducation and Experience* Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN), Required.Licensure and CertificationsRegistered Nurse: North Dakota (RN:ND), Required upon hire.Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR), Required upon hire.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Required within 90 Days of start.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Required within 90 Days of start.Where You'll WorkCHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, part of CommonSpirit Heath, a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood, Colorado.
