POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the accounting manager, the associate accountant is responsible for supporting the finance team by preparing journal entries, completing balance sheet reconciliations, and providing account analysis. This is a non-exempt role.

Work location: La Mirada, CA
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
General Accounting
Assist Daily AP process, printing and coding Telco invoices from carriers
Billing to assigned segments and follow-up collection to keep AR up to date
Assist in reconciling assigned accounts, pass-thru income and expenses, and E-rate/CTF for the assigned segments
Preparation of monthly supplemental reporting for managers
Assist with processing telco carrier invoices, calculating and producing member CalREN billings, and associated subsidies from Federal and State programs
Assist in monthly tracking, monitoring, and reconciliation of appropriate accounts impacted by Pass- through and Erate/CTF transactions to Members
Assist and support annual financial audits
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS:
Basic knowledge of GAPP (general accounting principles and procedures)
Knowledge of reconciliation, pass-thru income and expenses
Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot table).
Knowledge of MS Office applications.
Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in checks and balances and reconciliation skills
Basic accounting skills
Communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of employees, management, and external customers
Attention to detail and accuracy to provide quality financial information
Ability to analyze and interpret data
Ability to work independently with limited supervision to complete tasks by required timelines
Ability and willingness to learn new concepts like E-rate/CTF
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or related field
