Senior Cost Accountant, 115K-125K+Bonus

Senior Cost Accountant - Hybrid- Irving (115K-125K+ Bonus) LHH is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant on behalf of a dynamic and steadily growing manufacturing organization. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong manufacturing finance experience, deep knowledge of job costing, and the ability to partner closely with Operations to drive financial accuracy and performance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), variance analysis, and ERP-driven cost flows, along with strong analytical and communication skills. Job Responsibilities Manage accounting for inventory, WIP, and finished goods Reconcile inventory balances and validate COGS across materials, labor, and overhead Prepare and support journal entries related to inventory and cost accounting Recommend process improvements to strengthen financial accuracy Oversee full job costing life cycle from production through financial reporting Analyze and explain material, labor, and conversion variances Partner with Operations to identify root causes and improve cost performance Own WIP valuation and closing entries Audit and validate BOMs, routings, and standard costs Utilize ERP systems (Epicor preferred) for data gathering and cost analysis Ensure system accuracy without acting as a system administrator Prepare and analyze production cost reports and COGS summaries Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to track performance Support forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis with Finance and Accounting Assist with capital project ROI evaluations and financial modeling Ensure inventory safeguarding and compliance with GAAP and internal policies Monitor and audit processes related to scrap, disposal, and inventory adjustments Maintain and enhance internal controls around cost and inventory processes Promote financial accountability across teams through strong partnership Participate in cross-functional initiatives and continuous improvement efforts Serve as a resource and mentor for cost and inventory-related processes Job Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA/CPA/CMA preferred) 5+ years of cost accounting or manufacturing finance experience Strong understanding of manufacturing job costing and COGS accounting Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) Proven ability with reconciliations, variance analysis, and month-end close Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and cross-functional partnership abilities Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools If you are interested in this job or other Accounting and Finance career opportunities from LHH please email Rami Muhanna at rami.muhanna@lhh.com or visit our website at www.lhh.com.
