Our work goes beyond current industry demands to pave the way for a more sustainable and progressive future, contributing to the advancement of marine sciences and enhancing the quality of marine life.The Marine Services Business Unit is seeking a Survey Project Manager, Marine Services in Apple Valley, Los Angeles, Ontario, San Diego, Santa Clarita, Temecula, or Tustin, CA to serve as a client lead and technical authority for hydrographic and marine geospatial projects.This role is primarily responsible for leading projects from pursuit through delivery, including client engagement, scope development, team coordination, and financial performance. As a licensed Professional Land Surveyor, this individual will also provide oversight, review, and stamping of survey deliverables, ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance.This is a high-visibility role with significant impact on client relationships, project success, and the continued growth of DEA's Marine Services practice.What You'll Do Project Management & Delivery Lead marine survey projects from proposal through execution and closeoutDevelop scopes, schedules, and budgets; monitor project performance and profitabilityCoordinate multidisciplinary teams, including hydrographers, geophysicists, and GIS professionalsIdentify and manage project risks, ensuring successful deliveryClient Management & Business Development Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationshipsLead and contribute to proposals, interviews, and pursuit strategiesIdentify new opportunities and support the growth of the Marine Services practiceCollaborate with internal teams to expand services across existing clientsTechnical Oversight & Survey Authority Serve as Project Surveyor of record, including review, stamping, and signing of deliverablesProvide high-level oversight of survey methodologies, geodetic control, and data qualityEnsure compliance with industry and regulatory standards (e.g., USACE, NOAA)Team Leadership Provide direction and mentorship to field and office staffCoordinate resources and support staff development across projectsReview work products and maintain quality standardsWhat You Bring Required Qualifications: Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Washington and/or Oregon (or ability to obtain)10+ years of progressive experience, including project management and client-facing responsibilitiesDemonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teamsExperience contributing to or leading proposals and client development effortsStrong communication skills, and ability to build client trust.Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, Trimble Business Center, and related toolsPreferred Qualifications: Experience with hydrographic and/or marine geophysical surveyingKnowledge of geodesy, vertical datums, and datum transformationsFamiliarity with USACE hydrographic survey standardsWhat We Offer We foster an environment where talented professionals have the freedom and support to do their most meaningful work.
