Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare and deliver lesson plans based on district approved curriculumProvide individualized and small group instruction as needed to create a personalized learning experience for each studentMaintains a safe, organized classroom through effective classroom managementEstablishes and maintains appropriate relationships with students, parents, community members and staffCommunicates regularly with parents regarding their child's academic and behavioral progressCollaborates with all instructional staff and other school personnelEvaluates students' academic growth by administering developmentally appropriate assessments, maintaining accurate records and preparing progress reportsDemonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth by participating in professional development and other meetings as needed in accordance with District and Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) guidelinesMaintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsiblePerforms other duties as assigned by principal QualificationsBachelor's DegreeValid AR teaching licenseClean background checkEffective oral and written communication skillsKnowledge of relevant technology Physical requirements*Be able to stand for the majority of the school day in order to effectively monitor and supervise studentsBe able to walk short distances to supervise students between classrooms and activitiesBe able to sit, stand, lean, reach, bend, lift and squat to assist students as neededBe able to walk on uneven surfaces (playground)Be able to walk up and down stairsBe outside in all weather conditions for assigned duty (recess, before school drop offs, after school pick- ups and field trips) *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
