Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $2,800 per week

Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Burien, Washington. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Unit Overview (L&D / Postpartum / Mother-Baby) 14 LDRP beds (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum – same room throughout) 2 OR suites (in-house C-sections) 3 Triage beds (triage experience required) Level II Special Care Nursery (5 beds) (babies >1800g) ~ 1000 births/year ‍⚕️ Role Expectations Float between: Triage Labor & Delivery Postpartum (moms & babies) Baby nurse for deliveries OR circulating (C-sections) ❌ No floating outside birth center ✔ Must be comfortable with newborn transition couplet care Patient Ratios (AWHONN Guidelines) 1:1 → Active labor & recovery 1:1 → Dedicated baby nurse at delivery 1:2–3 → Postpartum couplets Nursery → Up to 1:3 (based on acuity) Required Skills & Experience Minimum 2 years L&D experience Must be able to: Triage patients Circulate C-sections (scrub preferred, not required) Transition newborns Nursery nurses → Level II experience required Certifications BLS (Basic Life Support) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Clinical Details Drips: Magnesium, Pitocin (must titrate) Monitor epidurals Common cases: VBACs, twins (no triplets) HTN, hemorrhage Preterm labor, infections Equipment: Tele-capable fetal monitoring System: Centricity Perinatal EPIC ‍⚕️ Support Staff Charge nurse each shift (no patient load) Surgical tech available 24/7 OB/Midwife 24/7 in-house Neonatal hospitalist (in-house or Anesthesia dedicated to OB ⏰ Schedule 12-hour shifts : Days: 07:00–19:30 Nights: 19:00–07:30 3 shifts/week Every other weekend: Nights: Fri/Sat Days: Sat/Sun Holidays: Rotational ❌ No call / standby Additional Info Scrubs provided (hospital required) Orientation: 2 days with preceptor Traveler-friendly unit Strong teamwork-focused culture About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
