We are scaling our team and technology to meet the accelerating demands of modern warfare and national security.About the RoleWe're looking for a QA Engineer to join our Human Systems team, with a primary focus on Android testing and quality. You'll play a key role in ensuring stability, performance, and usability across the mobile platform, while also contributing to testing efforts for our cloud-based systems.In this role, you'll design and execute test strategies, contribute to automation efforts, and partner closely with developers and product teams to deliver reliable, high-performing software.You'll be joining a collaborative QA group that takes ownership from day one and directly influences how features are built and released. Quality here isn't something we validate at the end—it's something we help shape throughout development.ResponsibilitiesPerform manual testing across our product suite, with a primary focus on Android and cloud-based systemsCreate and maintain test cases, and contribute to test planning based on feature scope and riskContribute to and expand automation efforts using Espresso, with a transition toward a framework supporting Jetpack ComposeCollaborate closely with engineers, product, and cross-functional teams to communicate issues, validate fixes, and align on testing timelinesAdapt quickly to new product initiatives and take ownership of testing efforts in evolving areasValidate functionality, performance, and overall user experience across Android and cloud environmentsRequirementsAt least 2-5 years of experience on teams building, testing, and shipping complex softwareBachelors Degree in a technical field or relevant experienceStrong experience balancing manual exploratory testing with automationExperience with at least one mobile automation framework (Espresso, Appium, etc.), with a preference for Android-focused testingStrong ability to document, reproduce, and troubleshoot issues with clear and actionable detailAnalytical mindset with strong problem-solving skillsExperience working with test management tools (e.g., Qase, TestRail, or similar)Familiarity with command line environments (Linux, macOS, or Windows)Ability to work independently, plan and prioritize tasks, and deliver results in a remote environmentComfortable testing Android and cloud-based systemsAbility to thrive with minimal day-to-day oversight and proactively drive quality without explicit directionNice to HavesExperience with GitHubExperience with CI/CD PipelinesExperience with Android StudioFamiliarity with Jetpack Compose and testing strategies for Compose-based UIsExperience with Playwright or other web automation tools for cloud-based systemsExperience testing client-server or API-driven applicationsExperience working in a startup-style development environmentCompensationSalary ($50,000 - $80,000) + EquitySalary is determined by the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.BenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision coverageHSA/FSA optionsParental Leave401(k): 100% match for the first 6% contributedUnlimited Paid Time OffHome Office StipendThis position will be open on or our website until it is successfully filled.
