Position & Office OverviewAs an intern working with our construction materials group, you will reinforce your education through a practical, hands-on, paid work experience. Your work will be realistic, rewarding, and allow you to be in a position of responsibility. You will contribute ideas and develop knowledge and communication skills while interacting with top professionals in your field. You also have a "can do" attitude and are ready to take on any project thrown your way - and that's why an internship with ECS will give you all the opportunity for career growth within our company you'll want.ResponsibilitiesObserving and documenting field activities related to the construction processSampling, testing, and inspecting soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placementPerforming calculations and data reduction of test results along with draftingUsing field screening equipment and documenting readingsReading maps, following directions, and interpreting engineering and construction plansInteracting and communicating daily with contractors, technicians, and project managersGaining the confidence to be the sole representative of ECS on project sites

Interest in how building materials are utilized in the construction process
Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height
