Studio Operations & Growth ManagerHalf Moon is a community-centered yoga and Pilates studio rooted in rest, mental health, inclusion, and intentional growth. We are a thoughtfully built, women-led small business in the South Loop that values depth over hype and sustainability over shortcuts.After two years of rapid growth, we are entering our next chapter and hiring a Studio Operations & Growth Manager to help lead it.This role is for someone energized by measurable impact, operational clarity, and building systems that drive sustainable membership growth.Schedule & CompensationSchedule:Part-time to start at approximately 30 hours per week, with potential to grow into a larger role over time.A consistent schedule that includes evenings and weekends based on studio operations.Occasional on-call availability for urgent operational needs. Compensation:$30 per hour, plus performance-based incentives tied to membership growth.Benefits:Complimentary unlimited studio membership (space-available, with priority booking reserved for paying members), plus a “plus one” unlimited membership for one partner or friend under the same policy.Studio Holidays:The studio is closed on the following holidays each year: Memorial DayJuly 4Labor DayThanksgivingDecember 24December 25December 31January 1Hourly employees will receive holiday pay when a studio closure falls on a regularly scheduled workday. Holiday pay will equal the employee’s normally scheduled hours for that day.Paid LeaveWe believe rest is essential to doing meaningful work and sustaining community care.The Studio Operations & Growth Manager receives 100 hours of Paid Leave annually, front-loaded each year. Paid Leave may be used for vacation, illness, mental health, or personal needs and should be scheduled in advance whenever possible to ensure continuity of studio operations.Paid leave may increase with tenure and/or transition to full-time status. Updated leave amounts will be outlined at the time of role expansion.The RoleThis role carries direct responsibility for sustainable membership growth, retention, and studio performance.You will work closely with the Owner while operating with a high degree of autonomy, sound judgment, and follow-through across core studio functions.The Studio Operations & Growth Manager oversees daily operations, team management, membership growth systems, and project execution.This role combines operational leadership, people management, data-driven sales oversight, and stewardship of the overall studio experience.Core ResponsibilitiesThis is not a support role. You will be trusted with real ownership and decision-making authority within clear guardrails.Membership Growth & Retention (Primary Focus)Own membership growth and retention systemsTrack cancellations, conversions, churn, and engagementBuild and maintain clear reporting dashboards (Google Sheets/Excel required)Lead outreach to new, at-risk, and former membersSupport and train staff in values-aligned sales conversationsUphold pricing integrity and membership structureTeam Leadership & HiringLead hiring for instructors and front desk staffConduct interviews and reference checksOversee onboarding and performance check-insProvide accountability and feedbackTrack team compliance (training, certifications, documentation)Studio Operations & SchedulingOwn class scheduling and sub coverageMaintain on-call availability for occasional urgent coverage needsOversee inbox and member communicationsEnsure high standards of studio cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness (including lobby, practice room, props, and retail areas)Troubleshoot operational and tech issuesSystems & ReportingMaintain structured tracking systems for membership sales, retention, compliance, and studio operationsMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to growth, utilization, and member experienceProvide weekly reporting, insights, and strategic recommendationsProject OwnershipLead recurring and seasonal studio initiatives from start to finishCoordinate across staff and vendorsEnsure deadlines are met and projects are fully executedQualificationsProven track record of owning and improving measurable performance metrics (sales, enrollment, retention, or revenue growth)Excited to be accountable to clear membership growth and retention goalsMotivated by performance-based incentives and measurable impactExperience in operations and people management (wellness, hospitality, fitness, or service-based preferred)Strong comfort with spreadsheets and data trackingAbility to build structured reporting systems and dashboardsConfident leading teams and having difficult conversationsHighly organized with exceptional follow-throughAble to operate independently and make sound decisionsAligned with Half Moon’s values and community-centered approachInterested in a long-term leadership roleComfortable working in a growing, entrepreneurial environment where systems are evolving and initiative is expectedWilling to roll up sleeves — this role includes both strategic thinking and hands-on executionMinimum 3–5 years experience in operations, team leadership, or performance-based environmentsHow Success Is MeasuredSustainable and measurable membership growthImproved retention and conversion metricsFully staffed, well-supported scheduleHigh team accountability and moraleSmooth daily operations with reduced owner dependencyWho Is This Not ForThis role is not a fit for someone looking for a task-only position or who prefers highly structured corporate environments.
