Senior Civil Engineer (Land Development) | Sioux Falls, SDIMEG is hiring a Senior Civil Engineer in Sioux Falls, SD, to lead design efforts as a lead engineer for moderate to complex projects and lead design efforts with limited support required from senior staff for the delivery of larger and high complexity projects. You'll work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. You will also support project budget goals, assist with training and mentoring efforts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.Principal ResponsibilitiesLead the design and analysis of civil engineering project features using Autodesk Civil 3D (or equivalent) to produce designs, specifications, and calculations per code requirements and IMEG standardsTrain and support others in civil engineering software for modeling (e.g., traffic analysis, pipe networks) as related to the role's responsibilitiesLead civil site design efforts and provide advanced technical oversight to the project teamInteract with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; build and maintain client relationshipsProvide in-process design reviews of civil infrastructure design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondenceImplement IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirementsProvide technical training and mentoring; provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with limited support from senior staffPrioritize safety and regulatory compliance; interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams (including other engineers, architects, and project managers) to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goalsStay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEGParticipate in project interviews and project presentationsRequired Qualifications and SkillsBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) License required7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industryAdvanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specificationsAdvanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills for civil infrastructure.Strong training, mentoring and leadership skillsAbility to perform final quality control check in their area of expertiseExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsEagerness to adapt to new challengesProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight staysThis position is not eligible for sponsorshipWhy Join Us IMEG puts people first-with a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact.
