You will work with patients recovering from injuries or illness, helping them move better, feel better, and stay active under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist. Active California PTA license is required to start the assignment. BLS certification from AHA or ARC required prior to start. Minimum 1 year of experience working in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care environment preferred; experience with geriatric populations required. Demonstrated competence with transfer training, gait training, and use of common assistive devices (walkers, canes, Hoyer lifts). Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including licensed Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and therapy aides. Current immunizations and TB screening as required by facility policy. Must be able to document patient care in electronic medical records per facility requirements.
