Accounting Manager

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations with enthusiasm and precision. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to influence our financial health Responsibilities Manage and supervise the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions. Prepare, analyze, and interpret complex financial statements and reports to support executive decision-making. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and governmental reporting standards. Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries. Lead the implementation and maintenance of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft to optimize financial workflows. Conduct detailed financial analysis including cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning. Mentor and develop accounting staff by providing training on technical accounting concepts such as GAAP, accrual accounting, double-entry bookkeeping, and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with internal teams on audits, internal controls, and process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. Maintain thorough documentation of financial procedures and ensure adherence to securities law and non-profit accounting standards when applicable. Experience Proven experience in corporate or public accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP principles. Demonstrated expertise in technical accounting areas such as SOX compliance, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, securities law, or private equity is highly desirable. Extensive experience with financial software platforms including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft or similar systems. Strong background in financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, account reconciliation, and general ledger management. Prior experience mentoring or leading accounting teams within fast-paced environments is preferred. Knowledge of tax regulations and experience with tax preparation or tax-related processes is a plus. Ability to perform detailed financial analysis including forecasting and budget management using tools like Microsoft Excel or other advanced financial software.
