The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.This position exists, under limited supervision, to prepare, monitor and analyze financial reports necessary for management of the District 4 budgets. This position will provide technical expertise to ensure all accounts payable/receivable and payroll transactions are processed and coded accurately in accordance with state regulations; and will assist with the development and preparation of various budget reports to enhance financial models. This position is also be responsible for recognizing errors or problems in the fiscal transactions of an agency and recommends alternative solutions for consideration by other staff.Job Duties:Compiles records and reports compliance with directives to assist in the preparation and maintenance of annual spending plans.Provide technical expertise to ensure all accounts payable and payroll transactions are processed and coded accurately in accordance with state regulations.The Accounting Technician is responsibility for recognizing errors or problems in the fiscal transactions of an agency and recommending alternative solutions for consideration by other staff.Minimum QualificationsKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) sufficient to analyze, interpret, and prepare financial information, records, and reports; locate errors; and recommend solutions to procedural or other fiscal problems.Knowledge of Statewide Integrated Financial Tools system (SWIFT), or other private or governmental accounting system, sufficient to query and compile records and reports, and assist with preparation and maintenance of spending plans, financial status reports and budget requests.Working knowledge of electronic spreadsheets, word processing software, computers and other office equipment such as calculators.Mathematics skills sufficient to calculate, review and reconcile data and balance accounts.Ability to design, interpret and explain work procedures and operations and provide advice on fiscal policies and procedures.Ability to read and write a variety of materials in English.Additional RequirementsSuccessful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history checkIt is our policy that all candidates submit to a background investigation prior to employment.
