HVAC/R Service Technician

Key Responsibilities & Required Skills/Experience:
Boilers & Hydronics- Technicians must be proficient in maintaining and repairing steam (high and low pressure) and hot water boiler systems.
Chillers & Industrial Cooling Systems- Specialized knowledge is required for servicing large-scale high-pressure and low-pressure chiller systems used in commercial facilities.
Air Conditioning- Expertise includes installing and troubleshooting commercial-grade split systems, packaged units, and high-efficiency heat pumps.
Control Systems- Proficiency in Building Automation Systems (BAS) and computerized climate controls to optimize energy efficiency.
Electrical & Troubleshooting- Ability to understand complex wiring, circuits, and voltage to safely handle electrical components.
Qualifications & Requirements:
EPA Section 608 Universal Certification- This is a federal requirement for handling all types of refrigerants in both high- and low-pressure systems.
Minimum Experience- Journeyman with several years of documented field experience.
Preferred Experience- 7+ years of general HVAC experience, with at least 3+ years specifically dedicated to boilers or chillers.
Continuing Education- Technicians must stay updated on new low-GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants such as R-32 and R-454B.
