Sourcing Manager

Title: Sourcing ManagerLocation: York, PA, HybridPay Rate: TBDEmployment Type: ContractIntroductionOur client is seeking a Sourcing Manager to support procurement, supplier management, commodity analysis, and strategic sourcing efforts for raw materials, parts, equipment, and operating supplies. This role will focus on cost reduction, supplier performance, sourcing strategy, and ensuring purchasing processes align with legal, compliance, and internal procurement standards.ResponsibilitiesManage daily procurement activities for raw materials, parts, equipment, and operating suppliesDrive spend analysis to identify strategic sourcing opportunitiesDevelop and execute sourcing strategies to reduce material costs and improve quality, delivery, and working capitalPerform cost analysis, scenario analysis, benchmarking, and market researchLead supplier selection, qualification, and readiness reviewsConduct supplier business reviews and performance evaluationsTrack supplier performance, address risks, and develop improvement plans when neededManage RFQs, RFPs, RFIs, vendor proposals, purchase recommendations, and purchase ordersMonitor supplier quality, delivery, non-conformances, and invoice discrepanciesMaintain supplier documentation and supplier database accuracyTrack and report procurement metrics including savings, spend, supplier rationalization, payment days, and lead-time reductionCollaborate with global procurement and material group teamsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience5 to 7 years of experience in heavy industry, rail, or a similar industrial environmentStrong knowledge of supply chain/category management, cost structure, risk mitigation, market analysis, and sourcing strategyExperience with integrated supply chain and logistics conceptsTechnical background or strong mechanical aptitudeAbility to read technical specifications, drawings, and production schedulesStrong understanding of legal, financial, and commercial termsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsAbility to work independently and develop alternative solutionsStrong collaboration and communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex formulasPreferred QualificationsExperience with spend categories such as fabrication, machining, castings and forgings, bearings, electrical and automation, gearboxes, or plant utilitiesExperience with ERP systems, especially Navision or SAPExperience with reporting tools such as PowerBI or Qlik SenseAbility to apply statistical methods to improve business processesCompany Benefits & CultureThe client offers a flexible hybrid work environment, competitive compensation, benefits package, 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, and a focus on work-life balance.
