Sr Java Developer

Position: Senior Software Developer - Java Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid) Contract Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer - Java to join our development team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Microservices, and Microsoft Azure. This role requires an independent, self-motivated professional who can design, develop, and deliver scalable enterprise applications while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Candidates must be local to the Chicago area and willing to work in a hybrid work environment. Required Skills8+ years of experience in Java application development.Strong hands-on experience with Java (Java 8/11/17).Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and RESTful APIs.Strong experience in Microservices architecture.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native application development.Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently. Roles & ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based enterprise applications.Build and enhance cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure services.Develop REST APIs and Microservices following industry best practices.Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance improvements.Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.Contribute to application architecture, technical design, and solution development.Support Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Preferred QualificationsExperience with Docker and Kubernetes.Knowledge of Azure DevOps and CI/CD implementation.Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
