Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Shift Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of two years of documented ICU experience or completion of an approved ICU training course License: Current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of California Certifications: ACLS Certification required, BLS Certification required, PALS and ACLS Certification within six months of hire, CCRN encouraged Description: The Registered Nurse in ICU plans, coordinates, and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served. He/she ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit's standard of care. He/she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the organization. He/she remains flexible to changing systems and is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice. He/she treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect. The role requires adherence to confidentiality regulations as required by the job. It involves potential exposure to blood and body fluids. The position requires frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and frequent transferring of patients. The employee must demonstrate physical capability to lift and move patients safely. The job requires vision capabilities for close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will perform comprehensive assessments on all patients and make nursing decisions based on evaluations of patient outcomes. The ideal candidate collaborates effectively with others to achieve unit and organizational goals. He/she participates in unit and integrated service projects to improve organizational performance. The role includes caring for patients across the lifespan, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
