Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, this role will play a critical part in translating demand signals into actionable production schedules, ensuring alignment between material availability, capacity, and customer delivery commitments.This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated planner who thrives in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing setting and is eager to contribute to building scalable planning processes from the ground up.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain detailed production schedules in alignment with the master production planRelease and manage work orders to support machining, fabrication, and assembly operationsMonitor daily production performance and adjust schedules to address delays, constraints, or priority changesEnsure alignment between production schedules and material availabilityTranslate customer orders, forecasts, and program requirements into executable work ordersSupport on-time delivery by proactively identifying risks and escalating issuesAssist in managing delivery dates and updating order statuses within ERP systemsSupport capacity planning activities by analyzing work center loads and identifying bottlenecksPartner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to resolve constraintsRecommend schedule adjustments to optimize throughput and resource utilizationWork closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management to ensure schedule alignmentCoordinate with Purchasing to track material shortages and expedite critical componentsCommunicate schedule changes, risks, and recovery plans to internal stakeholdersMaintain accurate planning data within ERP/MRP systems (BOMs, routings, lead times, and order statuses)Ensure work order accuracy and timely system updates to reflect real-time production statusAssist in troubleshooting planning and MRP-related issuesSupport the development and standardization of planning processes and toolsContribute to improvements in schedule adherence, planning accuracy, and production flowParticipate in planning cadences such as daily production meetings and capacity reviewsDrive performance against key operational KPIs, including on-time delivery, WIP levels, past due orders, and schedule adherence, ensuring alignment with production targets and customer commitmentsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)2-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operationsExperience working in a manufacturing environment (aerospace/defense preferred)Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling principles (JobBoss, Epicor, Oracle, SAP, etc.)Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesAnalytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilityEffective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyPreferred QualificationsExperience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environmentsExposure to AS9100 or other regulated manufacturing standardsWorking knowledge of Epicor ERPFamiliarity with CNC machining, fabrication, or aerospace assembliesAPICS/CPIM certification or progress toward certificationExperience supporting production in a growth-stage or startup environmentAdditional RequirementsWillingness to work in a manufacturing facility with regular exposure to shop floor conditions, including noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures and frequent interaction with production areas (machining, fabrication, and assembly)Frequent interaction with production areas (machining, fabrication, and assembly)Ability to use a computer and most common software programs to complete assignmentsAbility to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and onlineYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Total compensation will also include a comprehensive set of benefits including but not limited to: Company paid employee medical, dental and vision insurance.
