AI Implementation Consultant

Your expertise in professional learning design, AI tools, and ethical implementation will be essential for supporting educators across 28 local school districts in Oakland County.If you're ready to shape the future of AI in K-12 education while maintaining our commitment to equity and excellence, we want to hear from you!WHAT WE NEED:Designs and facilitates workshops, presentations, and coaching for Oakland Schools ISD and local districts, providing one-on-one and small-group guidance that models effective, transparent AI use and supports reflective practice.Supports the implementation of AI-related strategies, frameworks, and priorities, helping districts and departments translate strategic direction into concrete practices, workflows, and routines.Collaborates with district leadership and internal department heads to plan and implement AI use cases that improve teaching, learning, and organizational efficiency.Provides practical guidance on applying existing AI-related policies, data privacy regulations (e.g., FERPA, COPPA), and ethical guidelines in everyday practice, and embeds these principles into professional learning and resources.Implements AI pilot programs within Oakland Schools and local districts, aligning with established evaluation frameworks and success criteria, and gathers data on impact, scalability, and return on investment.Participates in cross-functional teams and collaborates with Technology Services to assess needs, trial AI tools, and document findings; develops recommendations regarding adoption, scaling, and sunsetting of tools, and communicates user feedback and infrastructure needs to technical teams.Maintains current knowledge of AI tools, large language models, generative applications, and relevant legal and regulatory developments; curates this information into a repository of vetted tools, prompts, workflows, case studies, and practical resources aligned with organizational priorities in both instructional and operational contexts.Creates guidance documents, templates, and just-in-time support materials that help staff use AI effectively, safely, and efficiently in their roles.Assists in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data from pilot programs, professional learning initiatives, and local district implementations; translates findings into clear summaries, dashboards, and impact narratives for stakeholders, and monitors and reports on implementation progress, needs, and risks, adjusting activities based on leadership feedback and evolving priorities.Performs other related duties as assigned.WHAT YOU NEEDBachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.Three to five years of related experience.Educational and Technology certifications are highly desirable.Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering professional learning for adults.Advanced proficiency with Generative AI tools and an understanding of Large Language Models.Strong familiarity with current Learning Management Systems and productivity suites, including how AI integrates into these ecosystems.Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for all audiences.Fundamental understanding of student data privacy laws and ethical considerations regarding AI in public institutions.WORK LOCATION:Oakland Schools Main Campus2111 Pontiac Lake Rd Waterford, MI 48328 This position is eligible to participate in the Flexible Work Program, which permits employees to perform their job duties for up to two days a week from a designated alternative location.SALARY DETAILS: $100,969 - $117,093 salary based on relevant prior work experience, with the potential to earn up to $126,096 after employment with Oakland Schools.
