This hybrid role combines both front office responsibilities and surgical assisting duties within a fast-paced oral surgery practice.This opportunity is open to candidates of all experience levels, from entry-level professionals to experienced oral surgery assistants. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, patient-focused, and comfortable supporting both administrative and clinical operations. This position offers strong long-term potential for full-time permanent placement.ScheduleFront Desk Responsibilities: Monday – WednesdaySurgical Assisting Responsibilities: Thursday – FridayKey ResponsibilitiesGreet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming mannerSchedule, confirm, and manage patient appointmentsAnswer incoming phone calls, emails, and voicemailsMaintain patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulationsCommunicate with patients regarding insurance coverage and financial responsibilitiesAssist the doctor during oral surgery proceduresPrepare and maintain surgical treatment rooms and instrumentsTake dental X-rays, CBCT scans, and clinical photographsMonitor patients before, during, and after proceduresProvide post-operative instructions and patient educationFollow sterilization, infection control, and safety protocolsSupport overall office operations and patient experienceQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredX-ray certification requiredDAANCE certification preferred but not requiredDental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination (DAANCE)Dental assisting or oral surgery experience preferred but not requiredOpen to entry-level through senior-level candidatesStrong organizational, communication, and multitasking skillsAbility to work in both administrative and clinical environmentsBilingual candidates are a plusPreferred SkillsKnowledge of oral surgery procedures and terminologyExperience with patient scheduling and dental software systemsFamiliarity with HIPAA compliance and infection control proceduresStrong patient service and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environmentWhy Work with Wheeler Staffing Partners?Wheeler Staffing Partners connects talented professionals with leading organizations across healthcare, finance, construction, and corporate services nationwide.
