The candidate will work closely with vascular surgery and cardiology as the leader of a multidisciplinary team to expand and develop a world class program in the advanced management of complex aortic diseases.The selected candidate will be expected to demonstrate clinical leadership through the delivery of the state of the art, high-quality patient-centered care across all aspects of aortic surgery, enhance patient access and develop pathways to care for patients with some of the most complex aortic diseases, develop a robust, data driven program of quality assurance and enhancement that is unrivaled, adhering to regulatory and safety standards, lead efforts to increase volumes through outreach and marketing collaboration, develop a strategic plan for the growth of the aortic surgery program in alignment with UCSF mission, vision, and values, and champion application of innovative, cutting-edge technology and treatments.The selected candidate will also be expected to work collaboratively with other Departments and hospital leadership to enhance integrated care for patients and work to direct strategic planning to identify resource needs and plan investments necessary for the aortic program's growth and success. Candidates must have effective communication and collaboration skills. Research productivity is expected and protected time for research will be considered. The selected candidate should have a proven track record and publications, clinical research, and national recognition.The selected candidate will also be expected to work collaboratively with other Departments and hospital leadership to enhance integrated care for patients and work to direct strategic planning to identify resource needs and plan investments necessary for the aortic program's growth and success. The selected candidate should have a proven track record and publications, clinical research, and national recognition.Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department's residency, fellowship training and educational programs.The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 . The minimum base salary range for this position is $149,700 - $393,200.
