Manufacturing Associate - Athens, GA Location

Manufacturing Associate The Manufacturing Associate at Power Partners (an ERMCO Company) encompasses multiple areas of transformer manufacturing, including assembly, machine operation, coil winding, material handling, paint line operations, quality inspection, and shipping. Depending on business needs, Manufacturing Associates may be assigned or cross-trained in one or more functional areas. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.Responsibilities As a Manufacturing Associate, you may perform one or more of the following duties:Assemble, inspect, test, and/or repair Pad-mounted, Pole-mounted, and Three-Phase transformers according to detailed work instructionsOperate, set up, and monitor production equipment and machinery safely and efficientlyWind coils and handle copper, steel, and other materials using hand and power toolsLoad, unload, and operate paint line and material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead hoists, and lift-assist devicesMove, stage, and ship materials and finished products, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to quality standardsUse measuring and testing devices (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, gauges, scanners, and test equipment) to verify product qualityRead and interpret work instructions, technical documentation, and quality requirementsPerform frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials typically weighing 50 lbs. or more, with or without mechanical assistanceMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areasWork collaboratively with team members to meet production, quality, and safety goalsConsistently follow all ERMCO safety policies, procedures, and department-specific rulesQualifications Required Qualifications:High School DiplomaAbility to understand, follow, and communicate written and verbal instructionsBasic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across various units of measurement)Ability to use iPads or other electronic devices for communication and work tasksStrong attention to detail, organization, and qualityAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with open communicationKnowledge and demonstration of proper lifting techniquesAbility to grasp, reach, handle, and manipulate tools, parts, and materialsWillingness and ability to learn multiple manufacturing processesPhysical ability to:Lift, push, and pull 50+ lbs. regularly (weights vary by position)Stand and walk for extended periodsOccasionally sit, stoop, reach, or kneelVisual acuity of 20/40 or better (with or without corrective lenses), including normal peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety toe shoes, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, welding hood, and hearing protectionCommitment to following all plant safety policies and proceduresPreferred Qualifications:3 Years of Consistent work history1 year of manufacturing experienceAt ERMCO, you'll build a career with a company that values safety, teamwork, and growth.
