Coviant Software has been a trusted provider of secure file transfer and OpenPGP software for over 20 years.Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Back-End Java Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will focus on developing and maintaining a commercial software product that provides scheduling and file transfer automation features using Java, a REST API, TCP/IP and Cloud Services connection, and database access while collaborating closely with other developers to deliver high-quality solutions. This is a remote, full-time opportunity for US-based employees (with a preference for Texas workers).  Note: U.S Citizenship is a requirement for this role.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain Back-End Server application using Java.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features.Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing codebases.Write and maintain robust unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.Deploy and manage web applications in production environments.Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure cutting-edge solutions.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.4+ years of hands-on experience in Back-End Java development .Strong expertise in Java development, with a deep understanding of JAX-RS / REST API architecture.Proficiency in additional technologies: TCP/IP, Thread Management, Cloud Storage, and SQL.Experience in writing unit and integration tests.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team that is fully remote.A strong sense of pragmatic software development, rather than idealized approaches to solutions.Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points):Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.Knowledge of file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTP, etc.) and Cryptography (PGP, SSL)Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.BenefitsCompensation commensurate with experience and skillsWorking for a small, family-oriented company (not some cut-throat corporation or PE backed madhouse)100% Remote workUnlimited vacationCompany Health Plan options401(k) with 100% employer match of first 3%, then 50% match up to the next 2%
